NICHOLAS BATTLE

B.A.F.F.A. Life President

Nicholas' first encounter with F.A. was in 1985 when he switched television channels and found himself half way through the BBC "40 Minutes" documentary devoted to the emerging, but hugely popular singing trio.

The combination of the music, the humour and the glamour made an immediate impact. He wrote to Dillie suggesting the formation of a fan club to be called The British Association of Fans of Fascinating Aïda. Or B.A.F.F.A.

The girls were enthusiastic and he now looks after the F.A. mailing list of some 2,000 names, and he handles all postal requests for merchandising. 13 years later, he still likes to think he is F.A.'s Number One fan. The concerts are slicker, the songs are even better and the girls do not get older, though their fans do get younger.

Nicholas's day job involves running the publishing company Countryside Books with his wife Suzanne from their base in Newbury, Berkshire. This is the B.A.F.F.A. hub. So if you want to join the mailing list (B.A.F.F.A. has long ceased to be solely a British affair) then write to him at B.A.F.F.A.

There is no charge and you will be joining a formidable international organisation.

GARY RENNIE

Webmaster

Gary is the most recent recruit to the FA team. He first saw the group in August 1984 when he was still an impressionable teenager. At the time, they seemed to be incredibly sophisticated and glamorous older women. He still feels the same way today. He's a lot less impressionable but they're a lot older - it all balances out! When he was asked set up the FA web site by Adèle he quickly agreed, the alternative was having his legs broken by Dillie.

When not being bossed about by three gorgeous women he works at a independent school in Edinburgh where he works miracles with clapped-out computers. He would welcome any suggestions for future additions to this web site.
